Profile of Jayan Raju
Written Jad Ibrahim
Jayan Raju is a second-year senior Acting major at IAA studying with Gulshrin Dubash and Bill Church. He has lived in Michigan his whole life. This year, Jayan is applying to colleges; his top three schools are Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, University of Michigan, and Boston University.
During his time here at IAA, Jayan’s favorite meal at Stone Cafeteria has been breakfast. He is very excited to come back this year as a senior and he’s looking forward to many events that are happening. Even so, he thinks it is hard to get back into the school year due to the busy schedule—but he believes it’s going to be great, and he's very excited for his second year at IAA. He will be performing in The Laramie Project at the Harvey Theater on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1-2.
Jayan’s advice to new students here is to always be doing more and to put themselves out there in order to take every opportunity they get. For him, when he came here, Jayan knew he would love IAA because everyone is very nice and there is a lot of support. Jayan said being here means studying what he likes the most everyday with people that he really loves.
