Profile of Caroline Daniels

Written by Mai Singh

Caroline Daniels is a Visual Arts major who has been at IAA for two and a half years. She was born in Prairie Village, Kansas, but recently moved to Grawn, Michigan. Her parents encouraged her to attend IAA, and her favorite part about being a Visual Arts major is the creative freedom she is given.

Some of her favorite things about campus are the squirrels, the lake, and Stone Cafeteria. A few writing topics that interest her are current events, politics, and events getting less traction, as she stated that “it’s important for things getting less traction to get more exposure, as the media has biases and only pushes certain topics, while other important topics that deserve more recognition are either glossed over or ignored.” She also enjoys reviewing movies and hopes to contribute to this year’s newspaper.

After IAA, she wants to study environmental law and continue art as a hobby. A few of her other hobbies include playing volleyball and baking, while her favorite foods are ice cream and Chipotle bowls (no meat, tortilla on the side). Though a person with few pet peeves, she dislikes it when people grind their teeth, and also has an aversion to chemistry. A fun fact about her is that she is a natural redhead—which is something she doesn’t often mention due to her dyed hair, an attribute she enjoys switching up on occasion. As someone who finds comfort in change, she continues to grow and evolve as both an artist and a person every day.
