Profile of Violeta Vilchis

Written by Xiye Chen

Violeta Vilchis is a four-year senior majoring in Visual Arts. As a supporter of Stone Cafeteria over Pinecrest Cafeteria, she believes that increased productivity comes with a larger and quieter space. Besides that, she really likes the scheduled working routine at one of the best arts high schools in the States. This routine helps her become a better artist who is willing to create with passion, even though this means leaving her beloved dog at home in Chicago.

She enjoys drawing comics and sharing ideas. Character drawing, expressions, and poses are the most fascinating parts of Visual Arts for her. Looking at the future, she is ready to continue pursuing the arts at an arts college. Rich and practical experience in the visual arts at IAA, combined with her passion for the arts, have paved the way for her career as well.

Violeta has faith that the purpose of life is to experience as many things as possible. “You are given the opportunities from life; it is a waste not to experience things around you, especially when you are in IAA, where there are lots of opportunities to experience,” Violeta said. So she suggests everyone go to Thesis Two Interactive Exhibition held in the Visual Arts Building, open during Family Weekend.
