Profile of Olivia Broadrick

Olivia Broadrick is a second-year senior and Visual Arts major from Dallas, Texas. She finds a lot of fulfillment in visual arts as it provides her with both comfort and an outlet for her passion. 

When asked about where her passion comes from, Olivia stated, “I really like the idea that I'm leaving a legacy for myself, and that I'm impacting my life. Even if I don't turn into a famous artist, my art will still be around.” 

She is inspired by artists from the Surrealism movement, such as Salvador Dalí, who take realism and play with the planes of dimension to create an almost fantasy-like landscape. Olivia comes from a family of both visual and musical artists. 

Outside of art, Olivia enjoys rollerskating and listening to folk music. She looks forward to when it gets less wet and rainy on campus so she can start rollerskating again. After graduation, Olivia plans to go on a gap year overseas, possibly in the United Kingdom to visit historical sites and architecture. Olivia hopes to pursue a career where her art includes outreach for the average person but also people more invested in visual arts.
